Unless you come to Funafuti by plane, which is a bit expensive in my opinion, then you will defintitely need to take a boat, which goes from 60 to 250 A$, depending on the seat you choose to have. The trip from Suva to Funafuti is once a month, with the Nivaga II and Manu Folau ships. Just ask at the Williams & Gosling Ships Agency in Fiji for more details(www.wgfiji.com.fj)
